PROGRAM    AND     PHILOSOPHY

We have a play-based program built around nature, games and being active and engaged. We provide a  pre-K, TK / kindergarten in-home calm environment. Our 5:1 ratio of children to teachers provides an excellent relaxed environment for learning, respect, guided play, developing social skills, and security.

We have tortoises, a bunny and many local seasonal pets that the kids help catch, maintain and release (such as lizards, snakes, tadpoles, salamanders, crayfish, and crickets). Kids  play board and card games everyday, such as Labyrinth, Sleeping Queens and Uno and we also have a large selection of individual games from the  Smart Games company. We do hands-on baking, art activities and kids keep a sketch book for regular drawing lessons.  We regularly visit local parks in Berkeley and Emeryville and consider outdoor activity and nature observation very important.

We love working with kids and our play-based, hands-on philosophy and small class size allows us to provide each child with the kind of learning and play they enjoy the most. Through games and activities we learn math, phonetics and language skills. We focus on communication, independence and self-awareness, striving to have children engaged and having fun all day.
